Easily fixed a clogged toilet with a plunger or auger.
Step 1: Tools to prepare
- a plunger
- a toilet auger
- rubber o-rings
Step 2: Stop Water From Overflowing
Push the flapper down to stop more water from entering. Then turn off the water supply behind and at the bottom of the toilet.
Step 3: Use a Plunger
Try the conventional plunger to unclog the toilet. Cheap and easy, it usually works pretty well.
Step 4: Try an Auger
If a plunger does not work to unclog the toilet, try a toilet auger (snake). Push the cable down into the drain pipe. Once the auger approaches the clog, give it a little extra tension to make a hole in the clog, creating a line to the sewer.
Step 5: Call a plumber
If the toilet is still clogged, call a professional plumber.
